Jean-François Carpentier

Jean-François is a partner at the firm and primarily practices in civil and commercial litigation. He advises businesses and individuals in resolving complex disputes through a personalized approach focused on understanding their challenges, developing strategies tailored to their objectives, and achieving the best possible outcome in the most efficient manner.

With extensive courtroom experience, Jean-François has appeared before all levels of court in Quebec, including multiple appearances before the Court of Appeal. His practice encompasses a broad range of civil litigation matters, including class actions, professional liability, insurance law, latent defects, and personal injury. He is also the co-author of a legal encyclopedia on the current state of the law relating to personal injury. 

In commercial litigation, Jean-François advises and represents clients in matters involving shareholder disputes, oppression remedies, and banking law. He has also developed significant expertise in employment law, particularly in cases involving wrongful dismissal, where he represents both executive employees and employers.

Jean-François holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics.
