Claudia Giroux
Claudia is a partner with 10 years of experience practising in a wide range of civil and commercial litigation matters. She has appeared before all levels of court in Quebec, including the Quebec Court of Appeal.
Her practice encompasses a broad spectrum of disputes, enabling her to handle diverse and complex litigation while drawing on experience across multiple areas of law. Claudia's practice is focused primarily on personal injury and medical liability, areas in which she is involved on a daily basis. She also acts in significant class actions, insurance litigation, commercial disputes, and insolvency matters.

Claudia completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the Université de Montréal. Her thesis, entitled Équité et bonne foi : perspectives historiques et contemporaines sur les distinctions fondamentales entre ces deux outils de justice contractuelle, was awarded a distinction of exceptional merit by the examining committee.

Medical Liability — Representation of patients who were victims of medical negligence in complex litigation involving multiple defendants.
Commercial Litigation – Distribution TCorp Inc. v. 9369-4248 Québec Inc. — Successfully obtained interim interlocutory injunctions to preserve a distribution agreement that had been wrongfully terminated.
Commercial Litigation – Novoqueen Pro Studio v. Pandalash Inc. — Successfully obtained a solidary judgment against a corporate defendant and its principals for breach of a supply agreement.
Commercial Litigation – Photo Action Montréal inc. v. Lofts Bagnoli inc. — Successfully obtained a judgment ordering the transfer of title to a commercial property.
Commercial Litigation – Investissements Nolinor inc. v. Chrono Aviation inc. — Represented a national aviation company in a highly contested unfair competition dispute.
Class Action Regarding Abuse in the QMJHL — Represents former players in the authorized class action against the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), and its member teams arising from allegations of abuse.
Medical Liability Class Action — Represents class members in the class action against Dr. Mija and Santé Québec (Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean) for damages arising from pathology testing results.
Insolvency – Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC — Acts as Canadian counsel to Irving H. Picard, Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, with respect to the Canadian aspects of the Madoff bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings.
Banking and Restructuring Mandates — Acts for one of Canada's leading chartered banks in matters involving insolvency, restructuring, enforcement of security interests, receiverships, and bankruptcies.
Insurance Litigation – FM Insurance — Represents an insurance company in multimillion-dollar subrogated recovery actions.
